Here’s what you get when the liberals try to meld leftist doctrine and Christian theology - Frankenpolicy. (more…)
Holy Smoke! The New Pope’s A Catholic!
Every newspaper and newscast in the world today is all atwitter with the big news that the new Pope is a Catholic. He’s against abortion! Against women as priests! Against homosexual marriage!
Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but hasn’t this been Catholic doctrine since, Oh, I dunno…500 A.D. or so?
So, the new Pope is a conservative! According to liberal theologians, even liberal Catholic theologians he’s a divider, not a uniter. In pod-speak this means he upholds traditional standards, morals and ethics. In pod-speak he would be a uniter if he would tolerate anything but morality.
I’m not Catholic myself, but it seems to me that if you advocate doctrine that is not Catholic, or cannot embrace Catholic doctrine, maybe you are not Catholic. I mean, what is it that makes you Catholic besides your beliefs?
If you are for homosexual marriage, maybe you should be Presbyterian. For abortion? Try Methodism! Like women as priests? The Episcopalians are there for you. Don’t like saying your rosary or going to confession? Be a Baptist! Because, as they succinctly say in the ‘hood “you ain’t no Catholic for real”
So for now, the phrase “Is the Pope Catholic?” is still an answer, not a question.
This cartoon is great example of it. Even in jest they can’t let up with the PC. In this cartoon, 2 children (still in the womb) are talking to each other. In response to a question, one answers the other “you look like a FETUS - ok?!”
I wonder what would happen if anyone were to point this out to the cartoonist?
“Are you sure that’s what a fetus looks like? Looks remarkably like a kid doesn’t it? Say…. wouldn’t it be funnier if he were to say “you look like a KID – ok?!” because it does….you know, kinda look like….a kid. It would be funnier, because, well… you know, he’d be stating the obv….”.
“Hell, no - what are you, some kind of right wing Christian fundamentalist?!!”
“Well, no… I just.. thought…”
“There’s your whole problem – you just thought – you think this is some kind of joke?”
“Well…sorta…yeah.”
Michael Shiavo’s Little Tin God

The press has characterized Michael Shiavo as everything from a saint to Satan’s henchman.
People with a distinct and narrow agenda have conferred his canonization. His lawyer, representing those proponents of euthanasia without limit and a member of the Hemlock Society himself, has been flush with praise for Michael, his love for Terri and the “beauty” of Terri’s death.
Let’s face it; Michael is just not that kind of guy. He’s moved in with another woman, he’s having children with her. One just simply cannot make the case that he is a moral giant intent upon carrying out Terri’s wishes even if it costs him everything. No, he’s no saint.
On the other end, there are those who will say he is evil because he is actively killing an innocent for no reason whatsoever. There are people willing to bear the burden of her care and release him entirely from any responsibility. People have even offered to pay him to do so. Since Terri’s death he has refused to allow the parents in the room with her body, refused to tell them where the funeral will be and decided to cremate her body against her birth family’s wishes and religious convictions even though he has no convictions either way of his own.
Oh, he’s MEAN, no doubt. And there’s a good case for calling him evil as well. But, let’s consider for a moment that he is not evil. Evil is it’s own motive. If he is not evil, he has another motive for what he is doing.
The only thing to be gained from the death of Terri is the assurance that she will never be able to speak for herself. It’s no secret that there is evidence that Terri suffered some trauma the night of her heart attack. There are even some that accuse Michael directly of attacking Terri.
So, is that it? Did he kill his wife to keep her quiet? I think so. Maybe because he tried to kill her. Maybe because he doesn’t want her anymore. Maybe because it’s just easier this way and he doesn’t want to look petty to the whole world. What the heck? She can’t fight back!
I believe Michael Shiavo shows us what we all are with no moral foundation; just a regular guy bowing to his prurient interests. He’s serving the only god he knows – Michael Shiavo.
