smartmoney

I don’t think Obama is intellectually vacuous and vapid in the same sense that Brittany Spears is. However, in the context of cognizance at the level one must have for the job he wants…he is Curly. Unfortunately, John McCain would be Moe, so we’re only slightly less screwed under that scenario. That leaves Hillary as…well, you catch my drift, right?

I’m getting the impression that the "smart money" thinks so too. Actually ALL money is smart….eventually. It leaves dumb people and goes to live with smart people. That’s why rappers use "money" as an adjective.

I hate using anecdotal evidence for any argument, but I’ll try one on you anyway. My brother just lost his job. That’s not unusual, it happens all the time and that is no more evidence of an economic downturn than a soldier being killed or injured in Iraq is evidence of the surge not working. No, what is significant about this is that my brother builds hot rods. These are not flip flop paint jobs and spinner hubcaps on a lowered hoopdi. He builds serious, show quality cars. He’s good.

Now, we live in the south and although, contrary to the stereotype, not everyone here is a car nut, there are plenty of them. We have great wide spaces to drive and explore - places a subway or a bus doesn’t or can’t go. Gas powered vehicles in the south are more than transportation, they are freedom, rebellion, lust and ambition. I’m not a car guy myself, but even I know the smell of a gas engine running too rich (and frankly I like it).

My point is that there are certain things that people in different cultures, even different societies aspire to, not just desire. Hot rods here in the south are such items. I’ve seen hotrods in his shop waiting on more money that took years to comlete. People don’t give up this dream easily.

So why has the hot rod money dried up all of a sudden? My point is that "smart money" wants to stay with smart people, so they (the smart people) are preparing for the hit. I got this same "vibe" nearing the end of Clinton’s presidency - like no one was in charge, no one was paying attention. Then Bush came along and we said "thank God - an adult !" - the market bounced back and we went back to playing golf, boating and building hot rods. There are no adults coming to the rescue this time and we all know it.

I hope I’m wrong, but I’m not. You can say McCain is a fiscal conservative all you want, but giving 20 million illegal immigrants amnesty and instant access to everything America offers is going to cost this country PLENTY. So will giving the terrorists at Guantanamo access to our courts, so will buying oil from the mideast instead of drilling in ANWAR, so will signing onto Kyoto or something like it, so will all the other capitulations to liberals that he is famous for.

Except for McCain’s military service, the most responsibility any of these candidates has had is for 1/100th of a decision in the Senate. They’ve never even run a gas station, much less a city, state, or country!

Yeah, yeah, yeah - I hear your argument for the lesser of 2 evils vote. But, I feel like a guy setting a pick on a basketball court - notice where the hands go - I’m going to take the hit, but for the smart folks, it’s all about protecting the money; and it’s never too early for that.

Let’s see now. Thus far Barak Obama’s platform for a presidential run includes:

Sex education for kindergarteners. Oh, I’m sorry - “age appropriate” sex education for kindergarteners. Well, first of all they would need to know what sex IS. Do you want these people explaining it to your 5 year old?

Iran and Syria will be responsible for Iraq once we surrender and pull out. Obama sees these Islamic facist states as the countries that will bring stability to the region “if” Iraq falls. What could be more absurd than trusting Iran and Syria to stabilize Iraq?

Open-ended, unconditional meetings with dictators and tyrants from around the world. I guess he’s thinking sort of a “Danny Glover” diplomacy - maybe hook up to do a flick together, or a joy ride with Kim Jong Il and Ted Turner to look at the skinny people there in Korea.

Seriously now. Any one of these positions would be enough to sink a presidential run anytime close the the election. Imagine a debate between Fred Thompson and Barak Obama. Obama has just advocated sex education for kindergarteners. Obama’s time runs out and Thompson just stands and stares at him…incredulous - Obama would never recover.

In these strange days however, the fever swamp leftists demand their pound of flesh from their candidates and they comply. This is who controls the Democratic party. Edwards can send his wife out to defend him when someone calls him a bad name, Clinton can do her black face routine complete with carnival barker accent and no one even thinks it’s strange. (She claims it as being “bi-lingual”). Kucinich wants to have a Department of Peace and Non-violence and teach the military “complimentary approaches to ending violence”!

Anyway, during this primary season Soros and moveon.org are driving that bus, but eventually one of them will have to face the American public as a candidate for president and it will require more than giving up tangerines for global warming to convince them they can run this country.

………………………..I hope

“All of us have voices in our heads, whispering insanities. Rep. Cynthia McKinney’s problem is that she lets hers speak.”

cynthia

You know Cynthia McKinney? Right? The serial police assaulter? Well, I love her. And so should every good conservative. Here’s her resume;

1. She’s racist
2. She’s a conspiracy theorist
3. She’s anti-war
4. She’s anti-American
5. She’s a member of World Can’t Wait
6. She is against school vouchers
7. She is for partial birth and every other kind of abortion
8. She supports reparations for slavery
9. She supports seeking UN approval for US military action

She is wrong on virtually EVERY SINGLE MAJOR ISSUE in politics today. And that brings me to the main reason I love Cynthia McKinney -
10. SHE IS A DEMOCRAT

cynthia
Now, the Democrats may say she is an extreme example of the most left leaning in her party and not representative of the mainstream. However true that may be, she is nonetheless an example of what is ACCEPTABLE to Democrats as an elected official in their America.

As “big tent” as we Republicans are, we’d ask anyone to leave our tent that held the views Ms. McKinney embraces (just like we did with David Duke). There are not enough gonads in the Democratic Party to do the same in 2006.

I’m really sorry that she is from the great state of Georgia. I have no explaination for why the usually well grounded, intelligent people of that red state would elect this lunatic, but, they have and the rest of America is obliged to deal with her. For some, the best use of their life is as an example of what not to do, be, think or act like. In that capacity, Cynthia serves America well.

Clinton Launches Withering Attack on Bush…

Breaking with tradition under which US presidents mute criticisms of their successors, Clinton said the Bush administration had decided to invade Iraq “virtually alone and before UN inspections were completed, with no real urgency, no evidence that there were weapons of mass destruction.”

At first I was a little mad that Bush asked Clinton to help raise money for the Katrina victims because I just knew he’d mouth off like this. But upon seeing the picture on the right, it couldn’t help but remind me of the picture on the left (”I did not have sex with that woman; Ms. Lewinsky”). Same finger wagging, lecturing, blowhard.

Even the most liberal among us cringe at that picture. In retrospect, I think Bush knew that for most Americans, Bill Clinton does not inspire confidence, trust or even nostalgia. As a matter of fact, when Bill Clinton gets on TV and starts lecturing George Bush about lying, Bush might get a little bump in the polls

Just for kicks, do a search on this guy - Timothy Bancroft-Hinchey. Whoooooeeeeeeee baby! I’m telling you, this is Democratic presidential material. He’s a writer for Pravda (Truth), the infamous Russian newspaper. Here are a few headlines of his:

Here’s a quote from his bio:

So let us all remember that we live as citizens of the world and as brothers around a common lake, which is the sea. Instead of dropping bombs on each other, how about holding out our hands in friendship? Tears taste of salt, wherever they may fall. Let’s all try to put a smile in the eyes and not only on the lips of the children of the world, giving them an equal opportunity”

Huh? Sounds like the Tao of Oprah written by Dick Durbin.

This is a good laugh and all, but what is disconcerting is the similarity of some of this tripe to the crap that comes from some of our own leaders in the Democratic Party.

LiberalismSeptember 9, 2005 7:23 pm

The Democratic party is fast marginalizing itself. I didn’t see this coming at all.

My fear was always that because of our conservative standards of personal responsibility, morals, limited government, etc., that we might marginalize our own party as more and more people in America jumped on the victimhood express.

Turns out most of us are like the rest of us. No matter how much they bleat, we know a hurricane is a natural disaster and the Evil Dr. Bush didn’t make it in his underground lab. The National Guard wasn’t sent to shoot black people in New Orleans even if a crotch grabbing rapper says otherwise on national TV. We feel sorry for Cindy Sheehan loosing her son, but we got her number pretty quickly, now we feel sorry for the rest of her family including her brave son. We know most of those folks in New Orleans could have left before the storm. We know looting from feeding your family. They will trot out Jackson, Sharpton, Pelosi and Hillary but the facts are still the facts.

In their fervor to get the liberal message out, the major broadcast tv news outlets have shown their hands. They are willing to fabricate, obfuscate and outright lie to uphold the liberal theology - all of America knows it now and we’ve all found other ways to get our news or check their “facts”.

There is, and I guess always will be, that 10% that “don’t know” or “aren’t sure” or “who is Ted Kennedy anyway?”, but that dependable 30% to 40% that would reliably answer poll questions according to the Democratic party planks is dwindling. After more than a week of trying to blame Bush for Katrina, still only 13% buy it in the latest poll.

Americans know what partial birth abortion is, they don’t think homosexuals should have special rights, they are NOT going to pay repairations, and they don’t beieve Al-Zarkawi is a “freedom fighter”.

This is the Democratic party of 2005 - it has it’s adherents and they are a rabid 25%. Let’s keep them at 25% by defending the rights of Cindy Sheehan, Kanye West and Sean Penn to be their spokespeople.

looters

Looting. sounds like something pirates do. The pilaging of a ship at sea and looting of stores during an emergency are both crimes of opportunity. No law enforcement around, just take what you want. However, there is a mindset to looting that is not present in piracy or any other crime. One looter, when asked if he was salvaging goods from a store he owned answered “Hey, that’s everybody’s store” . A sense of entitlement.

There is always a segment of society who is constrained only by the law and their fear of it. Those who have overcome that fear are criminals. We know how to deal with criminals. Those that have not are your neighbors and co-workers, relatives and just regular folks (just regular folks who happen to have no moral compass whatsoever).

Of course, this behaviour will be excused by the liberals. A Knight-Ridder headline declared ” Need and Greed Trigger Looting” . The greed part was evident, but if you were in need, why take a chance on robbing a store when literally thousands of people have been deployed to help people in need? When you need some toilet paper, does it trigger you to loot a store? Stoopid liberals!!

No, looting is NOT about need, it is about taking advantage of others’ misery to enrich yourself. The fact is that many of these peole now looting stayed in New Orleans after being told to evacuate just so they could take advantage of such a situation. The rest, except those who were physically unable to evacuate, are simply fools, but fools who are endangering the lives of those brave and altruistic men and women who must go in to rescue them.

As always, adversity reveals the character of a man or woman. As things deteriorate in the Big Easy, looters will become vandals, killers, anarchists, and barbarians. It’s a natural progression for those unrestrained by morals, standards or even simple respect for human life.

Then watch the liberals come out to defend the indefensible. Don’t think so? Remember the aquittal of that kid that tried to replace Reginald Denny’s brain with a brick during the L.A. riots? But maybe, just maybe the Cresent City will administer a little justice this time. In N.O., N.O. means NO.

My wife is an interior designer. A very clever girl, too. She works for a large store in which everyone wears an orange apron.

Yesterday, a woman asked for a manager so she could complain loud and long that she was offended by some in-store advertising that my wife designed. Here is what had her butt chapped:

While the liberals all hail Mark Felt as a hero, no one dares question their reasoning. The truth of the matter is that he helped to bring down a Republican conservative president and that’s good enough for them. Anyone caught pointing this out will be accused of defending Richard Nixon. (more…)

The liberals have come a long way since John Kennedy, baby!

Here’s a new game. I posit that there are 6 degrees or less of separation between any so-called “mainstream” liberal website and a picture or reference to Che Guevara. In other words, it will take no more than 6 clicks starting from one of those sites to get to a site that features a picture or a reference to Che somewhere on their web-site. (more…)
